The above photo shows a set of stairs that we replaced on this home. The
original builder used 2"x12" boards, which was a poor choice for steps.
We replaced each step with two 2"x6" boards. This will not allow water to
accumulate on the steps, and they will not subsequently cup, and pop nails,
as we routinely use screws.
